It is April 2020 so we have social isolation because of Covid 19. A difficult time for all! I am really hugely thankful that I am able to take this course . I am learning a great deal. The course was always on my “ to do list” and it has not disappointed but been more than helpful thus far . Thank you.
Lots to sit with and pray about. I keep hearing over and over in the video clips and material the importance of listening to the stories of the indigenous communities and people. Having a posture of openness and humility seems to be a first step for those of us who are trying to understand what reconciliation looks like. I am also thankful for the 4 years I lived in a Metis community beside Lake Manitoba. We learned a lot about “les voyageurs” and their lives with the Cree people in school. I wish our school system had taught more about this in other areas as well.
